OPTV & OPTV Magazine

On 1 September 2006, MRI launched Overseas Property TV (OPTV), with the aim of providing a unique source of both information and entertainment for anyone interested in buying a property abroad.

We know that buying overseas property is an exciting but daunting process, so we wanted to create a channel which would help to answer all types of questions on buying abroad. Where do you start? What country do you buy in? How easy is it to relocate? Will your property go up in value? How do you rent it out? What are the hidden costs? These are just a few typical questions.

To help with these and other queries, OPTV interviews and seeks expert advice from the real industry insiders – legal, financial, investment, retirement and other professionals – who offer invaluable, credible and independent advice.

We have carefully designed programming to inform viewers on every aspect of buying property overseas, from lifestyle matters to important issues such as the legal process and choosing the right mortgage lender.

We have created this range of programming to make choosing a property easy and, of course, to make the buying process smoother. OPTV is an exciting new way to access the world of overseas property.

OPTV Magazine

To further enhance our media presence and to bring Overseas Property TV to those who prefer the printed page to "the box", MRI Overseas Property launched Overseas Property TV Magazine.

With the help of industry sources within the travel and property markets and in the countries we cover, we made sure the magazine provided unbiased, unfiltered insider news, designed to keep our readers totally up-to-date with all the latest happenings, good and bad.

We chose from a list of our favourite and most relevant columnists to write feature articles. Among these names are John Howell, the accomplished financial expert, and Cheryl Markosky, who writes for the Financial Times, the Daily Mail and the Telegraph.

Alongside specials from the OPTV presenters and our own editors, all of these features were designed to offer in-depth and entertaining insights into all of the areas we feature.

Every month our unrivalled property classifieds feature up to 100 pages of properties. We knew the average property buyer would not only be interested in new developments but in the resale and rental markets too, so we included these too.

It was hard work, but we think we have produced the most comprehensive and professional overseas property magazine on the market. You can pick up your copy at all major newsagents including WH Smith in the UK and find out for yourself.
