Imperium properties Marbella

The residents of Marbella – with its year-round season of sun, golf, yachting, tennis and shopping – are finding that the lifestyle property market is taking pole position again as it settles into a stable and busy period, where “a high-end sale occurs every day of the year”. Many European families are coming to live and work on the Costa del Sol, where raising a family appeals due to the outdoor Mediterranean lifestyle, safe environment and availability and choice of international schooling.

Marbella and the Costa del Sol offer so much to the holidaymaker and permanent resident alike. The jet set came to Malaga and the coast west of the city in the Forties and Fifties for the sun and laid back lifestyle of the people, who remain friendly and still appreciate the wealth that the newcomers have created. When the runway at Málaga airport was extended allowing package holiday flights in, the jet set moved along the coast to Marbella and Puerto Banús where another tourism pioneer, Jose Banús, had reclaimed the land to build the now world-famous marina.

Nueva Andalucía, the golf valley behind Puerto Banús, was part of the overall plan which included championship golf courses, a new bullring and the hotel-casino at the Andalucía Plaza. King Fahd of Saudi Arabia built his holiday villa on a hill on the Golden Mile, opposite the Marbella Club Hotel, after breaking the bank at Monte Carlo.

More than two-thirds of Spanish tourism was on the Costa del Sol in 2006, with Torremolinos and Fuengirola still catering for entry-level holidays and with either side of Marbella catering for the luxury market, through both rental and property purchases.

The luxury property on the Costa del Sol is of the highest quality available in the world today. As time moves on we are seeing a greater demand for even higher standards of finishes with all recent technological advances included. These demands are also in line with the drop in age of clientele for luxury properties, with typical clients now aged between 40 and 50. Imperium properties in Spain start at €500,000.
