Imperium properties The Côte d'Azur

The Côte d'Azur is by far the most mature and well developed of our three chosen regions, so much so that some current Russian holidaymakers find that they have relatives living in the region since the time of the last tsar, when the south of France was seen as a spa resort destination. Elton John and Bono have decided to keep holiday homes here, where the summer sun does not get too hot and – as with Portugal and Spain – accessibility is a key factor.

From Monaco, Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, Cap d’Antibes and Cannes down to St-Tropez, the Côte d'Azur embraces culture, history (Napoleon holidayed there), festivals, shopping, clubs, cultural and sporting events and gourmet restaurants.

To the very north of the region are the lower reaches of the largest mountain range in Europe, the Alps, and the splendid scenery associated with them. To the west lies the Phone river and the heart of the Provence region with its beautiful landscape that enchanted famous painters such as Cezanne and Van Gogh, while to the east is the Italian border.

The property market on the Côte d'Azur caters for all tastes and budgets, ranging from €750,000 (our lower limit in this area) to in excess of €10m. Capital appreciation is excellent and rental demand is still far outstripping the number of properties available, which means that if you are buying a property for your own use and rental income or for rental income only, the Côte d'Azur is the perfect location.

The evidence of this is that in every town there are numerous companies offering a guaranteed rental income on property, which would not be the case if the demand were not so strong. The range of properties being added to our website in the near future will also educate our visitors and clients about the various areas.

Excitingly, we will also be offering country properties in the Languedoc region. One of France’s best-kept secrets, this less pretentious neighbour of Provence and the Côte d'Azur – just across the Rhône – has remained in comfortable obscurity. So much the better for those in the know: Languedoc-Roussillon enjoys the best climate in France with summer temperatures averaging 30C (86F). We will be offering homes in this region from €500,000.
